A Scientific Breakthrough

The Acne Culprit
The overgrowth of C. acnes, a bacteria that makes up 80-90% of all bacteria on your face¹ is a major cause of acne. They love to feed on sebum; the oil produced on your face. These play a big role in the amount of sebum on your skin:
Stress: How much you sweat
Diet: What you eat
Hormones: Your cycle
Genetics: Skin type

To fight acne,
brands told us to:
• Control the sebum
• Use less oily products
• Wash until your skin cracks

The real problem is
bacterial overgrowth

Meet Phyla's
Bacteriophages
Target bad bacteria, keep the good.

What are
Bacteriophages?
Bacteriophages (phages) are harmless viruses that target and kill bacteria. Every 48 hours, half of all bacteria on the planet are killed by phage.
How does this work?
1. They attach themselves to the bacteria using tail fibers
2. Phage DNA from the head is injected into the bacterial cell
3. Over 100 new phages are produced and injected
until the bacteria bursts, releasing the phages to attack more bacteria.

FUN FACT:
For every star in the universe, there are about 100 million to a billion phages in existence!

Your Solution in a Bottle
At Phyla's lab we identified phages that target and kill C. acnes bacteria.
Each bottle of our Phyla Acne Fighting Serum provides your skin with a billion+ army of phages to kill the bad bacteria that's causing unhealthy skin. Over time, your microbiome becomes more balanced with good bacteria. The result is healthy skin.
