3 Simple Steps to Clear Skin: A Look at Phyla’s Complete System

Establishing a skincare routine that works for you is probably the biggest hurdle to overcome when planning out your daily and nightly regimen for acne-prone skin. It can be stressful finding the perfect mix of products that actually work (both separately and together).

If you deal with acne, your skin’s permeability has likely increased. This means irritants can enter your skin easier. So you’ll want to keep your skincare routine simple and step away from most skincare products. Toners, acids, and exfoliants typically make the acne and inflammation worse.

By keeping your skin care routine simple and going back to basics, you’ll be able to heal your skin barrier and ultimately have healthier and clearer skin. When treating acne, incorporating a gentle cleanser, a treatment serum, and a moisturizer with humectants or ceramides will give your skin the best chance to heal itself. This will also help you learn what products work best for you and what doesn’t.

Although creating a skincare routine can be overwhelming, the ultimate goal should always be to nourish and support our skin. We kept this in mind when creating our 3-Step System. Meet your three new best phriends: Phresh, Phortify and Phluff.

JUST 3 STEPS 2X A DAY = CLEAR, BALANCED SKIN

01 Phresh Gel Cleanser

How to use:

If you wear makeup and/or sunscreen, consider double-cleansing at night. You’ll begin with removing your products from the day with your favorite makeup remover. This could be something like a cleansing oil, balm, or micellar water. Then, emulsify a dime-sized amount of Phresh Cleanser with water and apply it to wet skin. Massage gently over your skin, avoiding eye area. Rinse thoroughly and pat your face dry.

How it works:

The Phresh Cleanser is an effective face wash for acne that breaks down dead skin cells without harming your skin. It provides a light exfoliation with its 2% Salicylic Acid solution. Our cleanser is formulated to be gentle and friendly to even the most sensitive skin, leaving your face feeling calm and bright. It’s the perfect prep for Phortify – our groundbreaking phage serum.

02 Phortify Phage Serum

How to use:

Next, let Phortify do its magic. The live phage in this serum goes to work by killing only the acne-causing bacteria, allowing the good bacteria to flourish and build a resilient microbiome. Apply 1 full pump to clean skin. Gently massage the serum on your face in small, circular motions until it’s fully absorbed. For best results, keep serum refrigerated.

How it works:

Phortify is a powerful-yet-gentle acne-fighting phage serum. Featuring live phages, Phortify clears skin without damaging your microbiome. It targets only the acne bacteria on your skin so that the good bacteria can thrive. The result is better skin health and a stronger protective outer layer.

03 Phluff Moisturizer

How to use:

Lastly, massage Phluff Moisturizer onto clean skin following the Phortify Seum until fully absorbed. We recommend not to use moisturizers other than Phluff. Other moisturizers typically contain an ingredient called silicone (likely seen as dimethicone), which will inactivate the live phage in the Phortify Serum and make it less effective.

How it works:

Phluff is the only phage-friendly moisturizer formulated and tested to promote a healthy skin microbiome. The formula is specially designed to be compatible with Phyla’s proprietary phage – it’s the perfect complement for Phortify Serum. The special liquid crystal structure of this moisturizer mimics the bilayer of our skin cells, and the jojoba oil and squalane base deeply hydrates without clogging the skin with excessive oil. Perfect for all skin types, from sensitive to oily.

ADVANTAGES TO A 3-STEP SKINCARE ROUTINE

While many in the beauty industry would have you believe more is better when it comes to taking care of your skin, that’s simply not the case!

In reality, having too many products in your skincare routine is doing more harm than good and can lead to a number of skin problems. Contact dermatitis, redness, inflammation, and an increase in breakouts can all be due to the overuse of skincare products. Dermatologists agree that an effective skincare routine only needs three steps: cleanse, treat, moisturize.

For best results, we recommend that you use the Phyla system on its own. Not only will this reduce the ingredient burden on your skin, but it will give our phage the best chance to recalibrate your microbiome and keep those breakouts at bay.
